Be jealous

Becky and I are going to be on a cruise next week. Woot! So we voted in absentia for the first time.

Another first for me is the fact that I voted for someone for president that I actually believe will be a good one. This is my third presidential election and I had not even voted for a pseudo-qualified person, just the one that I thought would be slightly better.

I will not tell you the person I for whom I cast my ballot, but if you have read recently, you'll know.

US Senate and House, on the other hand... both candidates stink. Well, maybe in two years!

While I don't usually do politics on this blogging thing, I have extremists on both sides as subscribers, I'll make an exception for this.

I've never believed the "Maverick"-ness of McCain, but I didn't know much about him personally.  I did like in the RNC the sign that read, "Original Mavrick."  That made me giggle.

My favorite part in this article, so far is:
This is the story of the real John McCain, the one who has been hiding in plain sight. It is the story of a man who has consistently put his own advancement above all else, a man willing to say and do anything to achieve his ultimate ambition: to become commander in chief, ascending to the one position that would finally enable him to outrank his four-star father and grandfather.
What's with these presidents with daddy issues?

I have this friend, who is the only regular comment poster. She set a goal to run the Twin Cities Marathon.

She did it!

A month ago she felt under-prepared, but she followed through with this goal. I now feel inspired to follow through with some of my goals that I have been slacking on.

I'm so glad Beck and I got to see you run. I just wish I could have found you at different spots instead of just one. Way to go, Moe!
